At the edge of the frontier, Alexandra, a small-town portrait photographer, embarks on an unlikely journey to take the most amazing photograph of her life: the solar eclipse of 1869.
But her only chance of surviving the trek across the wild Dakota territory depends on Sterling, an ex-slave searching for his own place in the world.
